The 1998 Kröver Paradies Riesling Auslese trocken is in the market only since 2013 because "the wine was not ready to drink earlier," says Martin Müllen, who stored it in the warehouse of the estate in the center of Traben-Trabach where temperatures go from 2° C in winter up to 19° C in summer. The wine offers a very clear, fresh, delicate, subtle and elegant aroma of herbs, citrus and wild flowers. Intense and concentrated on the palate, this pure but rich, dense, full-bodied, tightly woven wine develops a great and intense taste full of minerals as well as a salty coined finish with a lingering floral and lime aftertaste. An impressive and powerful wine from an underrated vintage whose only problem was that it came right after 1997. "The 1998s are more discreet than 1997, and the wines are remaining very fresh for along time," says Müllen.
